No
professional gear is needed! - A simple home video camera or
camcorder is fine so long as it has an external microphone jack. Your
camera can be a full sized standard VHS or 8mm camcorder. (VHS-C is not recommended, but I can show you how it can be
used if you absolutely must.) The old two-piece camera and portable (VHS
or Betamax) can be used with great success as well. ü
